Yar is a Chrome extension that detects overly agreeable AI responses. Your privacy is fundamental to how Yar is built.

What Yar does NOT collect

• Yar does not read, store, or transmit your conversations
• Yar does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics
• Yar does not make any network requests during normal operation
• Yar does not collect browsing history or personal information
• Yar has no third-party analytics, advertising, or telemetry

How Yar works

All analysis runs entirely on your device. When an AI chatbot responds, Yar scores the response locally using text pattern analysis. Only numeric scores and signal names are kept in local browser storage. The original text is discarded immediately after scoring.

Feedback submissions (user-initiated only)

If you choose to submit feedback (by clicking the flag icon on a detection), the following data is sent to a private Notion database visible only to the developer:

• Platform name (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok)
• Rating band detected (Balanced, Mostly balanced, Agreeable, Very agreeable, or Sycophantic)
• Response snippet — the first 300 characters of the AI response (only if available)
• Your explanation — optional text you write describing the issue
• Timestamp of the submission

This data is used solely to improve Yar's detection accuracy. It is never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and never sold.

Data storage

• Local storage: Numeric scores and signal names are stored in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension.
